Fail here first.
Pass where it counts.

Mock Coding, System design and Behavioral interviews with an AI interviewer that listens, probes and hints like a good one. Then an honest verdict on whether you’d pass at your level.

An interviewer that behaves like one

It expects clarifying questions, waits while you think aloud, pushes back on hand-waving, and hints when you’re stuck without handing you the answer.

A verdict at your level, not a pat on the back

Strong Hire to No Hire against the bar for 0–2, 3–7 or 8+ years, a score for every skill, and the three things to fix first.

Voice or text, the same interview

Talk it through like the real call, or type when you can’t. Same interviewer, same report. Free includes one voice and one text interview a month.

Six roles

  • Software Engineer
  • Frontend Engineer
  • Backend Engineer
  • Data Platform Engineer
  • AI Engineer
  • Site Reliability Engineer

How it works

An interviewer that has read your resume.

Upload your resume, confirm the role and level we read from it, and pick a round. Then you’re in, with an interviewer who asks, listens and follows up.

It reads your resume first

Every interview opens on your own work, the way a real interview does: what you built most recently, why you chose that stack, what broke, what you’d change.

It waits while you think

Thinking aloud is the job, so it never cuts you off mid-thought. It keeps time, and once your first problem passes its tests it has a second one ready.

Hints that get stronger

Ask when you’re stuck. The first hint is a nudge, the next is firmer, and none of them hand you the solution. The report counts them.

A real editor, with tests

Python, Java, C++, JavaScript or Go. Run the examples, submit against hidden tests. Data Platform interviews add a SQL problem.

Never the same question twice

Questions are drawn from the ones you haven’t had yet, for your round, role and level, so a second attempt is a new interview.

Dropped? Pick up where you were

Your code and progress save as you go. Rejoin within 24 hours and the interviewer carries on. It doesn’t count as another interview.

Rounds

Three rounds.
The ones that decide offers.

Each opens with your resume and ends with time for your questions, like the real thing. Times are a plan, not a cut-off: finish early and you move on.

Coding

60 min

Two problems to solve, the second opening once the first passes its tests. Clarify, share an approach, code it, run the tests, and talk through the complexity.

  • An editor with visible and hidden tests
  • Medium problems, judged at your level
  • Data Platform: one SQL problem, then one DSA

System design

60 min

An open prompt, from requirements and APIs to a deep dive, while the interviewer pushes on scale and trade-offs.

  • A whiteboard to draw on
  • Prompts shaped by your role
  • More ambiguity and more deep dives at 8+ yrs

Behavioral

35 min

Stories from your work, followed up the way a hiring manager would, until the detail runs out.

  • Conversation only, no workspace
  • Ownership, conflict, impact, influence
  • The same round for every role

The report

A report that tells you the truth.

A mock interview that says “great job” every time is useless. Ours says whether you’d pass at your level, and why, in the words an interviewer would use in the debrief.

  • Strong Hire, Hire, Lean No Hire or No Hire, at your level
  • A 1–4 score for every skill the round tests, with the reason
  • The three things to fix first, each with a drill
  • Your code, tests, hints used and a reference solution
  • The full transcript, and the recording of a voice interview

On Free you see the verdict. The rest of the report comes with any paid plan.

Every score shows its evidenceApproach

Raj, 41:12

It passes. Would O(n²) survive n = 10⁵?

You, 41:40

No, that’s ten billion steps. If I sort by start first, I can merge in one pass.

Lean No Hire

Strong communication and clean code, but at this level the optimal approach should come without a hint, and the complexity check should come before the code, not after it.

Scores

Problem understanding
Asked about duplicates and empty input before starting.
Approach
Began with O(n²); reached sorting only after a hint.
Correctness
Passed every hidden test on the second submit.
Code quality
Readable; one unused variable left in.
Complexity
Didn’t check the bound against n ≤ 10⁵ until asked.
Communication
Thought aloud throughout; easy to follow.

Fix these first

  1. 1

Check complexity against the constraints before you code.

Drill: For your next five problems, write the bound and the largest input on line one.

  2. 2

Start from the sorted view on interval problems.

Drill: Merge Intervals, Meeting Rooms II and Non-overlapping Intervals, 20 minutes each.

  3. 3

Name the edge cases out loud, then test them.

Drill: Before each Run, say which case each example covers.

The bar moves with your level.

The rounds keep their shape; the questions and the grading move with you. Both are read from your resume, and you can change them any time.

  • An interview counts when it starts. If it ends before the round begins or in the first 5 minutes (mic or network trouble, a false start), you get it back. Rejoining a dropped one never counts again.
  • Allowances reset on the first day of each billing cycle (on Free, the 1st of the month). Unused interviews don’t carry forward.
  • Run out on Max? Extra voice interviews are sold in packs of 5, 10 or 20. They’re used once the month’s 30 are, and never expire.
  • Monthly plans in US dollars. Cancel any time; your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for. A full refund within 14 days if you haven’t taken a voice interview or opened a report; otherwise none.

FAQ

Before your first interview.

Something not covered here? Write to us. A person answers.

Is the interviewer a real person?

No, it’s an AI you talk to, or chat with. It behaves like a good human interviewer: it expects clarifying questions, waits while you think aloud, pushes back on weak reasoning, and offers hints that get stronger if you’re stuck, without ever handing you the solution.

Voice or text: what’s the difference?

Voice is the realistic one: you think out loud, the interviewer listens, waits while you think, and speaks back, just like the real call. Text is the same interviewer, questions, editor, whiteboard and report in a chat, for the library, the commute or a noisy flat. Free includes one voice and one text interview a month, each with its verdict; paid plans add the full report, more voice interviews and unlimited text.

What do I need?

A laptop or desktop with a recent Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox, and 35–60 minutes (you can adjust each part a little before you start). For voice, a microphone and a quiet room. The interview room doesn’t work on phones: coding on a phone isn’t realistic practice.

How honest is the report, really?

It’s graded against the bar for your level, not against your feelings. A 3–7 year engineer who needs a hint to find the optimal approach will read “Lean No Hire”, with the reason and a drill. That’s the point: better to hear it here than in a rejection email.

Which languages can I code in?

Python, Java, C++, JavaScript and Go, and you can switch mid-problem. Data Platform interviews also include a SQL problem.

Will I get the same question twice?

Not until you’ve seen the rest. Questions are picked from ones you haven’t had, for your round, role and level.

What’s free, exactly?

One voice and one text interview a month, in any round, with the same interviewer as every plan. Each one is graded, and you see the verdict at your level. The full report (why, a score for every skill with the moments behind it, the three things to fix first, the reference solutions, the transcript and the recording) comes with any paid plan, which opens every report you’ve had.

How do the monthly interviews work?

Each plan gives you a number of voice interviews a month, and you choose how to spend them: any mix of Coding, System design and Behavioral. Your allowance resets on the first day of each billing cycle (on Free, the 1st of the month), and unused interviews, voice or text, don’t carry forward. On Max you can also buy extra voice interviews in packs of 5, 10 or 20; they’re used once the month’s run out, and never expire.

What if my connection drops?

Your code and progress are saved as you go. Rejoin within 24 hours and the interviewer picks up where you left off. It doesn’t count as another interview.

What happens to my resume and recordings?

They’re used to run your interviews and write your reports, and nothing else. We don’t sell them or share them with employers. Delete your recordings or your whole account any time from Settings. Details are in the privacy policy.

Can I cancel or get a refund?

Cancel any time from Billing; you keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for. If you’re charged and haven’t taken a voice interview or opened a report since (text interviews don’t count), ask within 14 days for a full refund. After one voice interview or one opened report there’s no refund, in full or in part. An interview pack is refunded in full within 14 days if none of its interviews has been used. See the refund policy.
